BENEFITS OF A MUSIC EDUCATION

Musical training can help students with language development, memorization, engagement, pattern recognition, and intellectual curiosity. It also promotes important life skills like a desire to create quality work, coordination, discipline, teamwork and fostering an internal sense of achievement and confidence.

MUSIC CHANGES LIVES

Music education can change lives for the better by helping kids develop healthy communication, emotional, social, and academic skills, and can decrease disciplinary issues. It can also help children deal with trauma by allowing them to identify healthy coping mechanisms and have an outlet for stress. Music can bring a sense of peace to a student's life, create opportunities for them to thrive, and open doors for their future.

STriving for equal opportunity

Despite the significant benefits of music education, 3.6 million students don’t have access to music classes*, and as budget cuts continue to eliminate music programs in schools, this number will only continue to grow. Although some are able to pursue music as an extracurricular activity, financial barriers prevent many others from experiencing the transformative power of learning an instrument. At AMF, we work to ensure that all children have the opportunity to thrive.
